Updated e-Transport System Regulations in Romania: The Government Strengthens Monitoring of Goods in Transit
To bolster financial oversight and guarantee adherence to Romania's transport industry regulations, the administration has created a decree that amends Order No. 802/2022. This directive, pertaining to the surveillance of goods being transported through the RO e-Transport System, also reinforces fiscal responsibility and accountability.
The government's revision, implemented on April 29th, updated a comprehensive assortment of products and services encompassed by the RO e-transport regulations. These will include a wide range of goods such as:
- edible meat and organs, fish and crustaceans, mollusks and other invertebrates;
- milk and dairy products;
- bird eggs;
- honey;
- other edible products of animal origin;
- vegetables, plants, roots and tubers, edible fruits, citrus, melons;
- beverages, alcoholic liquids, and vinegar;miscellaneous products of industrial chemistry;
- clothing and accessories thereof (knitted or crocheted and other than that), worn clothing and rags, footwear, leggings and similar articles;
- items such as cast iron, iron and steel, tobacco products, and fuel.
This broadened spectrum of monitored goods underscores the administration's resolve to mitigate financial risks associated with transportation activities. This directive was published in Romania's Official Gazette and will take effect on July 1, 2024.
